Anthony Agnelli is a Canadian visual artist whose practice explores abstraction through painting, drawing, photography, and digital processes. His work is characterized by dense layers of colour, fragmented forms, repetition, and visual interference—creating images that move between the organic and the constructed, the familiar and the uncertain.
Rooted in a long-standing painting practice, Agnelli's recent work expands beyond the physical surface. Using Procreate, he draws, manipulates photographs of his own paintings, and collages fragments of existing imagery into new compositions. This process allows earlier works to be broken apart, reconsidered, and transformed, creating a continuous dialogue between his physical and digital practices.
Agnelli holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Thompson Rivers University and an Advanced Diploma in Fine Arts from Georgian College. His work has been exhibited in galleries and juried exhibitions throughout Ontario, and he has participated in artist residencies including Spark Box Studio in Picton, Ontario.
Agnelli lives and works in Ontario, Canada.
