ARTIST STATEMENT
Interference explores the experience of visibly different things co-existing within the same space. Forms, colours, textures, and fragments collide without fully resolving into one another. Rather than seeking harmony, the work allows these differences to remain visible, creating tension between what belongs together and what does not.
The series grows from my painting practice while extending into drawing, photography, and digital manipulation. I photograph and dismantle elements of my own paintings, combine them with new marks and imagery, and reconstruct them through collage and digital processes. Existing work becomes material for something new, allowing different moments in my practice to occupy the same image.
Through layering, repetition, obstruction, and fragmentation, Interference considers what happens when distinct elements are allowed to exist simultaneously without being reconciled. The resulting images resist a single reading. They exist instead in a state of overlap—where difference is not erased, but made visible.
